How to Use


Finding wild creatures
• Only 2 variants of each creature type spawns in the wild such as:

• Palomino Horse, Cosmic Horse - Meadows.
• Undead Rotten Horse, Undead Cosmic Horse - Swamp.
• Red Deer, Cosmic Deer - Black Forest.
• Timber Wolf, Cosmic Wolf - Mountain.

• To set up the rest, open the config in BepInEx/Config/MagicalMounts/Creatures.cfg and customize the spawn to your preferences.

Taming wild creatures
• Craft Cosmic Treats at a lvl 1 Couldron.
• Find wild creatures and sneak up to them.
• Drop treats near them and sneak away.
• Wait for hearts to appear which means they're now acclimating.
• They should eat 1 treat every 5 mins for a total of 30 mins.
• When you hear a magical sound and lots of hearts they've been tamed.

Summoning Mounts
• Unlock Summon items by killing bosses.
• Purchase Summon items from Haldor/Hilder.
• Craft Book items using Summon and Transform items.
• Craft Transform items using Summon items.
• Place item in hotbar and use to summon onto the mount.
• Press F10 to desummon from the mount.

Using the Book
• Craft a creature Book by combining a Summon + Transform item.
• Put the creature Book item in your inventory and use it.
• It has now been permanently unlocked in your Mount Book.
• Press F9 to open the book.
• View all your tamed creatures you've collected.
• Select a creature and then press F10 to summon onto it.
• It will remember your selection until you summon with an item instead.

Control Schemes
• Mouse (Flying)
• Aim the mouse up and down to ascend or descend, shift to fly fast.
+ This mode works with WASD, Autorun.
- This mode does not work with Asc/Desc or Flap.

• WASD (Land + Flying)
• W to move forward, A and D to rotate, shift to sprint and fly fast.
+ This mode works with Mouse, Asc/Desc, Autorun.
- This mode does not work with Flap.

• Asc/Dec (Flying)
• Space to ascend, LCTRL to descend.
+ This mode works with WASD, Autorun.
- This mode does not work with Mouse, Flap.

• Flap (Flying)
• Space to flap, LCTRL to descend.
+ This mode works with Autorun.
- This mode does not work with Mouse, WASD, Asc/Desc.

Creature Controls
• Mounting - Attach a saddle on your creature and hit E above saddle to ride it, press E to dismount.
• Riding - WASD to move around, shift to sprint, R to autorun.
• Flying - F to initiate flight and G to land, mouse aim up or down to ascend, descend, shift to fly fast, R to autorun.
• Attacks - Left, Middle, Right Mouse button to perform attacks.

Misc Controls
• F9 - Open Summoning Book
• F10 - Summon/Desummon.
• Creature Inventory - When hovering over your creature, press Alt + E to open it.
• Healing Potion - When hovering over your creature, press hotbar key to heal it.
• Cosmic Cell - When hovering over your creature, press hotbar key to store it, press it again to release.

        Players will no longer be able to steal other tames and any tames before turning this on is still free for all.

        Press V to make your tames follow but you can also still press E on it.
      • Added config settings to enable, disable player, creature follow sfx, vfx.
      • Added a multi saddle system for new saddle visuals.
        Craft the armored saddle upgrade and then apply it to a horse that has a saddle on it.

        Loading is fast on Linux servers and while the configuration manager is a bit laggy, it's manageable.
        Remove the entire MagicalMounts folder and now use the MagicalMounts.cfg in the config folder instead.
      • Added a autorun feature, press R when you're mounted (wild or mount) and press S to stop.
      • Added a new flying control scheme, now you need to flap with Space (only affects Pegasus for now).

      • The new Deer comes in 8 variants such as White, Black, Red, Brown, White Magic, Black Magic, Red Magic and Cosmic (As with the other creatures it has it's own Summon, Book, Transform, Statues).
      • You can no longer dismount using ESC, instead use the dedicated dismount key (F10 by default).
      • You can no longer use any attacks (if you're on a attack mount) when your inventory is open.
      • The cooldown now starts when you desummon instead of summon which prevents you to instantly resummon.
      • All creatures are now part of Dvergr faction which makes them neutral but hostile if attacked (non-combat will flee while combat will attack).
      • Tweaked the overall AI for non-combat and combat creatures.
      • There's now a Cosmic Treat specifically for taming as they now eat each 5 min.

Requirements:

Installation:
  • Download the latest version from Thunderstore.
  • Extract the downloaded zip file.
  • Copy the contents to your Valheim/BepInEx/plugins folder.
  • Start the game and enjoy!
Server Installation:
  • Install the mod on your server following the same steps as above.
  • Ensure all clients have the same version installed.
  • Server-side only installation is not supported - all players need the mod.
